Jaw vs Impact Primary — and What Powerscreen Will Not Promise

Jaw crusher primary

Default for hard limestone and granite: simple toggle relief, wide feed-hardness tolerance (Mohs ≤ 9 class), and lower liner spend. Peak cubicity is secondary to stable t/h and short downtime windows.

Impact crusher primary

Wins when asphalt-grade cubicity or recycled concrete dominates. Blow bars raise shape quality but wear faster on abrasive trap rock; we publish that liner-life trade against the jaw baseline before the bid closes.

Operating limits we disclose up front

  • Tracked mobiles relocate faster but can sit 10–20% below stationary jaw–cone–screen peak t/h on the same rock.
  • Tighter cone CSS (16–20 mm) improves cubicity yet raises liner wear and diesel per saleable ton.
  • Wet wash modules need settling-pond capacity; dry screening is preferred where water permits are constrained.
  • We do not quote plants without feed F80, target gradation and duty hours — incomplete RFQs stay in application review.
